Yontoo Launches New Layer Apps Technology

New Web Application Allows Users to Modify Existing Web pages

5/22/08 FALLBROOK, CA – The ability to modify a web page has always been in the hands of a webmaster, until today. Yontoo Technology, Inc. of Fallbrook, CA has released a new application that puts the ability to edit websites into the hands of the average user. The company has released Yontoo Layers™, a Web browser add-on that creates virtual layers over existing websites. These layers can be edited to give the appearance of having actually modified the webpage itself. Because the edits take place on the virtual layer the original webpage remains intact.

“Yontoo’s layering technology gives users functionality never before seen on the web,” says Arie Trouw, one of Yontoo’s founders. “Since no html or coding knowledge is needed, anybody can use these tools and enhance their Internet experience.”

Yontoo will be releasing products they call Layer Apps which are individual tools that run on the Yontoo Layers platform. Their first Layer App called Sanity Switch will be released in June. The Sanity Switch Layer App will give users the ability to remove and replace the personalized artwork and customizations on modified MySpace pages. “Many MySpace pages are so overrun with art and layouts that they are impossible to read,” Trouw said, “but by clicking the Sanity Switch, the user will be able to temporarily disable the art and see the page in its original, uncluttered format.”

Yontoo’s webpage modifications should not be concerning for webmasters or companies that control websites. All of the alterations are done on the client side, so no one that has not chosen to see the alterations will see them, and the only pages whose edits will be viewable to everyone running the Yontoo Layers software are pages that the editor has rights to manipulate, such as their own social network pages.

The Yontoo Layers platform is now available for free download at www.yontoo.com and the Sanity Switch Layer App will be available for free at www.sanityswitch.com in mid June. Yontoo’s software currently works with Internet Explorer 7 and FireFox 2 on Windows XP or Windows Vista, and Firefox 2 for the Mac OS X operating systems.

While Yontoo is excited about the Sanity Switch release, they say that Page Rage, their second Layer App slated for release will go much further in showing the true potential of their technology. Page Rage will enable webpage customizations that can’t be made through the existing conventional methods.
